Striped Shirts
Everyone who knows me would agree that I love stripes. I at the very least have ten striped tops, no matter what they are always in style. I still even have a few from when I was a teenager. I am by no means a jeans and t shirt type of gal but I believe there is nothing more effortlessly chic than a striped long sleeve t and jeans. I love all stripes but especially the classic black and white, I would take that over navy and white any day of the week. The french standard does of course have its place. Anyway, I have been hearing that stripes are "all the rage" right now, but really when haven't they? Here is a look at some of my favorite moments for the striped shirt...

Underwater and on Prairie
I have been extra horrible at updating the last six months, sorry! I have moved three times since my last post, and have been without a computer. I have been drawing again and am very happy with my new work which I will post soon. Check out my flickr if you want a little preview. Anyway I have worked with Claudia Susana quite a bit recently and thought I would post some of our photos.
In June we did a shoot in the Sharon Woods. We were trying to catch the fireflies in the photos which was actually crazy hard. Magic did happen though, and Claudia produced some amazing photos as usual.

This photo was actually taken the same day. I am in front of the house I stayed alone in over the summer. I love this photo because it has the yellow daisies in the background which I had a love hate relationship with. I would pick them and put them in vases in my bedroom window.

These photos were taken last weekend. I am modeling with Ashley at her boyfriend's pool. This was such a fun photo shoot to do. It was basically just a girl's pool party. We listened to The Talking Heads and ate Chipotle. We also were pretending it was the 80's in our awesome retro bathing suits.

Check out Claudia Susana's blog and website for more magical photos.
Well, that's it for now, but expect more frequent posts.

Style Inspiration: Brooke Shields
So I have been going back and forth on doing this post for the last week, and I finally decided to go ahead with it. I love Brooke Shields' 80's look, she was so fresh but yet so effortlessly stylish. The reason I was unsure about making this post though is because lately I have been reading about Brooke and I hadn't realized what a crazy early career she had.
She was only 10 years old when her mother had her pose nude for a Playboy publication, when she was older she tried to get the negatives through court but lost. Only a few years later she starred in Pretty Baby which was about a young girl who had her virginity auctioned off to the highest bidder. Of course as I am sure you know when she was 14 she did sexually suggestive jean commercials for Calvin Klein.
It is so weird to me that not too long ago this was alright with the general public. Possibly because she looked so mature people thought it was fine, but it isn't at all. I am very disheartened to find out more about her childhood career. Either way, she is still a fashion inspiration to me. Brooke looked amazing with a natural look or even the heavy 80's makeup look. Her brows were coveted by every women in a America, as well as her hair. She really was the girl of the decade. I am just happy she seems so well adjusted and normal now.

Sandals + Tights
Something I am really into right now is sandals paired with tights. I love the contrast. It seems rather off putting perhaps to the people in Cincinnati but I don't care. I am sure a lot of what I wear isn't Cincinnati approved. Anyway like everything this look was first seen on Kate Moss, really though if you look back far enough you will see Jem rocked this look in the 80's. I think fashion rules are dumb and I like making a point of breaking them.
here is my take...
