Beige and Floral

Autumn is right around the corner, which to most people means Autumn colors. I hate fashion rules with a passion. I don't like to think that I have to wear brown and musty greens all season, I look horrible in those colors usually. I like wearing fun color combinations and patterns, it makes the threat of the cold seem brighter to me. I am sort of crazy wearing what I do seasonaly though. This whole summer I have been wearing a big letterman sweater even in the hottest of days. I am rather ridiculous with my fashion choices.

I love florals, I think that is obvious though. This fall I like the idea of beige and floral. Maybe a classic trench with a pale floral dress or a muted top with a pink flowery skirt and nude oxfords paired with pale blue knee highs? It is such a spring look but I think things should be confusing. If you want you could even throw in some more autumny colors. I have a cute orange scarf knitted by yarnovermovement that would look nice with either outfit.

My Photo Shoot with Claudia Susana

So I had a photo shoot with the beautiful and talented Claudia Susana over the weekend, and I am so excited about the first five photos she has sent me. I really think she takes the best photos of me. She is such a great photographer and person. I am so happy to have worked with her and hope to again in the future. Check out more of her photography at her site, claudia-susana.com.

50's Inspired

Deal: $20 Low Top Converse Light

I have been eyeing the new Converse Lights for a while, they are similar to the classic All Stars but have a thinner more girlish shape. I have had the same old high top Converse since I was a teen and sometimes I think they are a little too clunky, especially when worn with skinny jeans. For a long time I have wanted a converse like shoe that is more lady like.

I found what I was looking for about four years ago when Urban Outfitters came out with the shoe on the right. I was a teenager at the time and the thought of spending $40 of my hard earned money I made from Bath and Body Works was appalling. As it turned out I never got these cute shoes, although I now wish I wouldn't have been so stingy with my money.

Ever since then these shoes have never left my mind and I am have to say the new Converse Lights seem to live up to this long standing dream, they even have a super cute skimmer version that is rather similar to the Urban Outfitters pair. I have to say I wanted the high top version at first, but after looking all over the internet for an affordable pair, I found the low top version on sale at
Sears.com for only $20. They are only available in size 8 and 11 though so if you want a pair you may be out of luck. They do have different colors for only $29.99 at Delias.com in a wider variety of sizes, although they do not carry the classic black and white. Even though it is still hard for me to justify spending $40 on canvas shoes I may just have to get the skimmer awell.

Loving Lately: Heeled Oxfords

I never gotten into oxford heels/granny shoes, I really liked how they look but it never occurred to me to buy a pair. Well, I was doing a fashion shoot the other day and when I saw the heeled Dolce & Gabbana oxfords an other model was wearing I fell in love. After searching high and low I found a couple that I liked at a good price.
