Beauty and Hair Recommendations

This is in my Twin Peaks post but I also wanted to strongly
recommend it to everyone. This is a great primer, it does
everything it is suppose to do, and really does help makeup
go on easier and stay put longer. Proof to me is the fact that
I took a nap earlier and woke up with my makeup still
looking perfect.

This finishing creme works very well, it helps dull ends look
defined and makes my bangs look glossy. It adds great texture,
I like to use it for touch ups in between washes.

I have noticed a few fine lines under my eyes so I thought
I needed to start using an eye cream. I have used it for two
weeks and have already noticed a difference. I am not sure
if it would work for deeper lines but it does seem to work
for fine lines.

The Passenger

I really like the movie The Passenger. Besides having a very poetic story, the movie has great costumes. I like the nameless girl's style very much, it is so free spirited and slightly random. The first outfit she wears in the movie with the mix of florals really stands out to me. Her style reflects the mood of the movie very well, the sense of urgency, the outfits being the way they are really make sense. Being on the run through Spain, you do not have much time to decide on clothes to wear, all the same her outfits are strangely inspiring like the rest of the movie.

Nylon Feature

I went to Nylon's website today and found out I was featured on their street style section. I sent the photo what feels like a million years ago, it's a really old photo. How exciting though!

Flickr Favorite Outfits

Here are some of my favorite outfits I have found on flickr lately.

on camillej's stream
I am loving vinyl leggings lately and they perfect here with the ruffle top and blazer.

I really like the pattern of this vintage dress and she really makes it by matching her lipstick and nails to it.

from missemma.peel's stream
I love this outfit because it is so unexpected. A belt for a headband? Awesome.

from Skylark and Son's stream
Everyone knows I love silver. This dress rocks.

from biddyoverboard's stream
These light colors work together very nicely and I love that purse.

Style Inspiration: Audrey Hepburn in Green Mansions

It may have been a box office failure but girl of the rain forest Rima's style did not miss the mark in Green Mansions.

Neon Pink Dress

I have a neon pink vintage dress given to me earlier this year. It is cut in an A-line style but is a bit big on me. The hem needs some work as well and I am thinking of turning it into a bubble hem. It is made out of wool which I hate so I may have it lined. Me and this dress sort of have a love hate relationship but I see a lot of potential in it. These pink looks from Givenchy inspire me to whip this dress in shape.

What I Wore Today: Fashion Remixed Online From Beijing to Berlin

I can't say how excited I am about the What I Wore Today book finally coming out. It is so awesome to be part of this book. Wardrobe Remix is my favorite online community I have ever been a part of it, and it is great to have all of my favorite remixers in one book.

Loving Lately: Kaboodle

I just want to take a second to talk about Kaboodle. Are you a member yet? I joined Kaboodle in the spring because they had a dress contest. I do a lot of online shopping so I really got into the site. At first it seemed a little confusing but once I understood the layout it was a lot fun.  If you find something you like on any website you can add it to your Kaboodle right away by putting their buttons on your toolbar. What is also nice is that you can organize your finds with lists. It has been great for me because having all my finds in one place gives me more time to think a purchase over and not forget about it.

Product Recommendations

CG Smoothes Hydrating Makeup in 705 Ivory

I am not a big fan of most fountains, being pale but not having a pink skin tone makes it hard to find a color that is right for my skin and works well. I usually use Mac SatinFinish in NC15 because I love how it matches my skin perfectly and isn't heavy. I ran out earlier this week though and had to get a quick replacement and ended up with CG Smoothers. I use my Mac Studio Finish Concealer under it and I really love the result. It makes my skin look flawless, it is actually a close second to my mac foundation.

Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing System

In the last few months I have been trying to get my hair back to brown from being bright red for well over a year which has been harder than I had thought it would be. Having hair that is more naturally frizzy than curly it has killed my hair. My birthday was Friday and my friend who works at Aveda gave me an amazing gift, the dry remedy shampoo, conditioner and mask. I am not going to lie when I say this is the best shampoo and conditioner I have ever used, it is great. My hair feels perfect. P.S... It smells great. Thanks Leah!

Every Man Jack Face Lotion

This is going to sound weird but I use a men's facial moisturizer. About six months ago I saw skin care kit at Target and bought it for my boyfriend. He loved the lotion so much I had to try it. I have used it ever since. It is so light and really helps dry skin, it is also scentles so it wont clog pores. This lotion reminds me of Bigelow's Deluxe Facial Moisturizer but it is so much cheaper at $5 a bottle and Target even carries a travel size version for a dollar.

Loving Lately: Heeled Oxfords

I never gotten into oxford heels/granny shoes, I really liked how they look but it never occurred to me to buy a pair. Well, I was doing a fashion shoot the other day and when I saw the heeled Dolce & Gabbana oxfords an other model was wearing I fell in love. After searching high and low I found a couple that I liked at a good price.

$33.99 at retrocuties.com

$24.80 at forever21.com

$34.50 at alloy.com

$39.50 at delias.com

$9.99 at target.com

Jelly Birkin

I know it is played out and in bad taste but I just bought a Jelly Birkin. I will never be able to afford a real Birkin and I have an obsession with the color peachy pink, plus I think it is sort of funny.

Beauty Note: Carrie Nations' Look

Teenage rock superstars, their lives were that of a dream but that dream turned into a nightmare. Through it all though, they always looked like true vixens.

I love Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, it is one of my favorite movies. I love everything about Beyond the Valley but most of I love it for the look of the Carrie Nations. The big hair and fab makeup, you can't help but root for Kelly, Pet and Casey even when they toke, deceive and cheat.

Here is what you need to be a doll without the drugs, sex and crazy partying.
